PT. MRT Waives Outlet Rental for SMEs for Three Months

PT. MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) waives outlet rental fees for small medium enterprises (SME)s who rent outlets at the MRT stations.

Principally, we will consider to offer free rental

"We waive the renting outlet cost for 33 SMEs who rent outlets in several stations that were closed due to COVID-19 pandemic," said William Sabandar, Director of PT. MRT Jakarta, during online press conference in Journalist Forum, Wednesday (4/29).

According to him, those tenants are divided into 2 groups; middle class and SMEs. For SMEs, his side granted three months of non-payment rent from March to May. As for middle class, MRT has not provided any specific policy until now.

Temporary Closure of 7 MRT Stations Runs Well

"If the pandemic still continue, I will also continue to waive the outlet fees for SMEs. Principally, we will consider to offer free rental, but so far, only SMEs who get full free rent," he stated.

Previously, PT. MRT Jakarta has temporarily closed several MRT stations, namely Setiabudi Station, Bendungan Hilir Station, Istora Station, Senayan Station, ASEAN Station, Blok A Station, and Haji Nawi Station. Other 6 MRT Stations that still operates are  Bundaran HI Station, Dukuh Atas Station, Blok M Station, Cipete Raya Station, Fatmawati Station, and Lebak Bulus Station.

"At the moment, we have no plans to close the remaining 6 stations," he mentioned.
